The Bureau of Labor Statistics has stated that one of the most common reasons that people miss work or take time off is because they are suffering from musculoskeletal disorders (or “MSDs”). These injuries or experiences of pain are often workplace caused or workplace-related injuries.
Postural strain, repetitive movements, and overuse of specific areas of the musculoskeletal system can all result in injury. This can result in reduced levels of workplace productivity and increased absenteeism amongst your staff.
It is essential to ensure all employees complete ergonomic safety training so that they can protect their health as best possible while working for you. It will also reduce your risk of being involved in a court case or compensation case if employees do experience musculoskeletal disorders.
